Reap what you sow

For so many of us, September is the equivalent of a New Year. It is a time to start fresh, with a clean slate, set up daily routines, and to clarify our intentions in order to create a vision for personal growth.

Self-reflection is required to embrace ‘new beginnings’ with purpose. It gives us the space to refine our goals and align our commitments with ourselves, others, and our work.

Take some time this week to reflect, realign, and set some intentions for this new beginning and to create your most meaningful year yet. Whether you are approaching a new beginning in your personal life, profession, new hobby, health and fitness goals, or taking on a passion project, take the time to mindfully consider the end result - what are your goals, your hopes, your dreams for living your best life, feeling your best, doing your best? How can you achieve these goals and dreams by implementing small daily actions that create a big impact?

“Autumn is the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful.”
~ Unknown

Autumn arrived this past weekend, and this season is a time of letting go. When you think about nature and all that is happening, the leaves changing color, losing chlorophyll, preparing to die, and the trees shedding their bark, fixing to “LET GO” of the dead leaves; we can parallel the seasons to our lives as well.

  • What is no longer serving us?

  • What things are holding us back from reaching our greatest potential in all areas of our lives?

  • What needs to die or be released as we change seasons and prepare to hibernate in Winter?

These questions can hit really hard when it comes to relationships with self and with others. It makes us reflect on truth, boundaries, and the negative impact some aspects of our lives have on us and how we need to go through some difficult decisions to make personal progress. It is never easy, but the end result, in the Spring, is when we reap what we sow.

Hopefully, you will have some time to reflect on what YOU need to release in the next few weeks or months; and think into the future about what you want to achieve once the ice and snow thaw in the Spring.
